Boat Gel Coat Restoration & Power Polishing in Red Deer, Alberta

Every boat’s finish is different. The level of oxidation, UV exposure, water staining and surface wear determines which restoration steps may be appropriate. We inspect the condition of the gel coat first and then recommend the level of cleaning, polishing or restoration needed for your boat.
Fiberglass Boat Gel Coat Restoration Process
Clean the Surface:
- We use a marine-grade cleaner to remove water scum, algae, and grime.
Sanding (If Necessary):
- For deeper scratches, oxidation or UV damage, our technicians may use fine-grit sanding where appropriate to help smooth the surface and prepare the gel coat for further restoration.
Apply Gel Coat Restoration:
- After surface preparation, we apply an appropriate gel coat restoration product or treatment based on the condition of the finish. The goal is to improve faded or weathered areas and restore a more consistent appearance where possible.
Buffing and Polishing:
- We use a dual-action polisher with a high-quality marine polish to buff out the surface. This will smooth the surface, bring back the shine, and remove any minor scratches. We use a proper marine-grade product that’s designed to restore the gel coat's luster.
Protective Coating:
- After polishing, we may apply a marine-grade wax or sealant to help protect the restored surface from UV exposure, water spotting, dirt and environmental buildup during normal use and storage.
Aluminum Boat Power Polishing in Red Deer
Clean the Surface:
- We begin by cleaning the aluminum surface with a marine-specific cleaner to remove water scum, algae, dirt and other surface buildup before polishing.
Remove Oxidation:
- Aluminum is more prone to oxidation, especially in UV-exposed areas. We'll use an aluminum polish product designed to remove oxidation. This will restore the metal’s shine.
Sanding and Buffing (Optional):
- If the aluminum has heavier oxidation or surface scratching, our technicians may use Sfine-grit sanding where appropriate, followed by machine polishing with an aluminum-specific compound to improve the finish.
Apply Protective Coating:
- After polishing, we may apply an aluminum-safe protective wax or coating to help reduce exposure to UV, water spotting and environmental buildup and to help maintain the improved finish.
